Binh Phuoc’s first quarter economic growth was estimated at 7.6%

(BP Portal) - The province's economic situation in the first quarter of 2023 continued to stabilize and develop: economic growth (GRDP) was estimated at 7.6%, total state budget revenues in the region reached VND 2.735 billion, and export revenues totaled USD 933.40 million, attracting domestic investment of 10 projects with a capital of VND 2.007 billion.

The provincial People's Committee reports the above information in its Announcement No.101/TB-UBND of 6/4/2023 on the socio-economic situation, Defense and security of the first quarter and the second quarter task 2023.

Accordingly, the first-quarter GRDP was 17th in the country. Of which agriculture, forest and fishery sectors increased 9.4%; Industry - construction grew by 3.44%; Service grew by 10.35% and product subsidies by 3.43%.

The state budget revenues are 19% above the draft budgets assigned by the Ministry of Finance and 17% of resolutions approved by the Provincial People's Councils.

Exports tend to be positive, with a turnover of 10.14 % compared to the same period in 2022 and reaching 22.49% of the year plan. Meanwhile, the first quarter imports were estimated at USD 469.8 million, down 28.25% from the same period in 2022, to 21.07% of the year plan.

Domestic investment attracted 16.73% of the annual plan, 68.32% compared to the same period in 2022. Foreign investment (FDI) attracted 9 projects, with capital of USD 57 million of us $448 thousand (including adjustments), reaching 19.15% of the annual plan, an increase of 95.61% over the same period of 2022. There were 262 enterprises registered for new establishment, accounting for 21.83% of annual plans and 9 new establishment cooperatives, and 25.71% of annual plans. At the same time, the province has collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City in successfully organizing a joint programme meeting between Ho Chi Minh City and the South East provinces in Binh Phuoc./.
