Accelerate disbursement of funds from the National Target Program in ethnic minority and mountainous areas

​(BP Portal) - February 7, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Province Tran Tuyet Minh chaired an online briefing to assess the implementation and disbursement of funds under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The conference connects to district and town in the province. Up to now, the total capital allocated to implement 10 projects under the program in 2022 is more than 216 billion 600 million VND, of which the reciprocal provincial budget is nearly 21 billion VND. The progress of capital disbursement as of 6/2022 has only reached 17.03%.

Slow disbursement due to slow allocation of funds; guidance documents of central and local agencies, departments and agencies are not synchronous and uniform; mechanisms for integrating, mobilizing capital ... takes a long time to prepare affecting the disbursement schedule.

At the conference, delegates listened to leaders of Loc Ninh, Phu Rieng, Dong Phu districts, departments and sectors to report on advantages and disadvantages; consulting solutions to remove problems in disbursement.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh requested: In 2022, the speed of disbursement of funds under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas of the province is low in the country. In 2023, barriers must be overcome to speed up disbursements so that people can soon enjoy the results of humane projects from this National Target program.

Up to now, Phu Rieng district, Binh Long town and Chon Thanh town have not been disbursed. Particularly, Loc Ninh district has disbursed VND 15.062/88.606 million, reaching 16.7% of the assigned capital plan; This week the district will disburse about VND 39 billion of 2 transport projects, striving to reach over 50% by the end of the week./.
