The 52nd UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2023

(BP Portal) - On February 16, the provincial Team launched the 52nd UPU International Letter writing contest in 2023 to the National Council of Districts, towns, cities and centers of Children's Activities and children's Club Houses of districts, towns and cities.

The 52nd UPU in 2023 was coordinated by the Ministry of Information and Communication in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee, the Vietnam Post And Telegraph Corporation and the Tien Phong Youth and Children's Newspapers.

The competition this year's theme was: "Imagine you're a superhero whose mission is to make all the paths in the world safer with children; write someone to tell you about superhuman strength that helps you fulfill your mission."

The competition was aimed at helping children develop a creative capacity for writing and creative thinking. Also, help them reach out to societal and era problems and express their thinking about them. In this, to build up and nurture the sentiments and responsibilities of the young generation to the society, the country and the world; Helping them understand more about the role of the postal service in social life and development.

The participants were Vietnamese students between the ages of 9 and 15 (up to the time of sending the letter to the pageant). Time of acceptance for the test: from the date of issuance of the papers to March 15, 2023 (postal stamp).

The test is a letter written in prose on the subject of the contest (unpublished or printed in books), not 800 words long. Entries written in a foreign language must be accompanied by a Vietnamese translation. The jury will judge according to the Vietnamese version. The test is presented clearly, cleanly, handwritten on one side of the paper. The computer typing test or photocopy is not valid.

Each entry must be placed in an envelope with a postage stamp, clearly stating the sender's address, the address of the receiving place with the postal code (11611) and sent through the postal system of Vietnam Post. Number: 11611 is the postal code of the Tien Phong Young and Children's Newspaper.

The Organising Committee shall award prizes of between 500.000 VND and 5 million (VND). For the first prize winners, second place received the badge of "Creative Youth" from the Central Committee of ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The winner of the first prize will be sent verbationally by the Organising Committee to accompany the English translation, or in French to participate in the  UPU International Letter-writing Contest.
